The Check In
No words this week, as we’re in the thick of last minute planning for Salmon, Idaho’s first Pride event. Building meaningful, year round community has by far been one of my favorite parts of a post outdoor seasonal life, and I’m so excited to see this event come to fruition.
How are you noting Pride this month? How many others of you are in the bi mafia with me (my colloquialism for those of us in straight-passing relationships)?
As always, my DMS and replies are always open! More next week.

How I’d Apply
It’s not necessarily mandatory to jump straight from outdoor seasonal work into a corporate, deskbound 9-5. For those of you with a meditative flair and the willingness to let your employer sponsor your housing, The Southern Dharma Retreat center is hiring a Retreat Center Director near Asheville, NC.
Unique Value Proposition (UVP):
Outdoor seasonal folks, especially those who have managed outdoor recreation operations of all kind, are going to have a unique leg up on this position requirement: “Experience leading staff who live where they work.”
Consider which stories can you tell that illustrate your experience in this area, while prioritizing, “Inclusive decision-making and accountability: ability to make timely, thoughtful decisions centering staff input and taking responsibility for outcomes.”
